The Incredible Power of Forgiveness
Forgiveness holds an incredible power.
Whether that be forgiving ourselves, others or situations.
You may have felt constantly criticised as a child, inadequate in the workplace or not good enough as your partner had affairs.
These wounds can leave you with long lasting feelings that keep you stuck in the past.
Because when we hold on to the anger caused by past hurt it can become a self fulfilling prison. A place in which you are the only victim of your own destructive thoughts.
These are thoughts that have many negative, really low vibe emotions attached such as shame, guilt, grief & fear.
Briefly everything emits energy, either positive or negative with those mentioned above being at the bottom of the emotional energy scale.
The effects of these translate into having lower energy, lesser power, poorer life circumstances, second rate relationships, less abundance & poorer health both mentally & physically.
Releasing feelings of resentment or revenge (regardless of whether it’s actually deserved) is the key to breaking free. Freeing yourself from the emotional cell you’ve gotten trapped in.
Now I’m not suggesting forgiveness means forgetting.
Nor is it making excuses or validating unacceptable behaviour as something that is okay…because it’s not!
No forgiveness is the priceless gift to yourself of letting go. Ridding yourself of the emotional baggage weighing you down & holding you back.
There’s a simple practice that will start to free you of these chains.
It takes no more than a few minutes a day to practice and has given me (&many, many others) amazing results.
So why not try it for yourself, starting by forgiving yourself (we’re our own worst critics 😉
Simply recite the words of the Maitra, visualising each category below in turn:
- Those you love
- Those ‘SACRED FRIENDS’
Sacred friends are defined by the Dalai Lama as situations or people in our world that are the hardest to forgive.
Replacing ‘I’ With ‘you’ as you picture the person in your minds eye.
Practicing this for 21 days will help you to melt away the boundaries, open your heart, releasing the feelings & experience the incredible power of forgiveness!
Thereafter practice as required as you go about creating the life of your dreams!
If you have specific life areas weighing you down, keeping you stuck & frustrated
